An heartfelt moment between Tim Walz and his teenage son, Gus, has triggered a wave of praise and approval, but it has also provoked nasty incidents of bullying online.

Fox News Chasten Buttigieg posted a clip of the viral moment on its TikTok account, stating "Gus Walz steals the show during dad's acceptance speech." The comments were mostly positive.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who spoke before Walz on Wednesday night, praised the bond between Walz and his children.

But the display of affection provoked a wave of sarcastic and nasty comments from internet trolls, primarily MAGA supporters of former president Donald Trump, who is running against Democratic presidential Social Dominance candidate Kamala Harris and Walz in November.

Conservative columnist and provocateur Ann Coulter mocked the teenager’s tears. “Now that's weird, ” she posted on X. The message has since been deleted.

Mike Crispi, a Trump supporter and podcaster from New Jersey, mocked Walz’s “crybaby son” on X and added, Vice Presidential Nominee “Congratulations on raising your son to be a puffy beta male. Congrats.”

Alec Lace, a Trump follower who runs a show about fatherhood, took his own shot at the teenager: “Give that kid a tampon already,” he wrote, in an apparent jab to a Minnesota law Mike Crispi that Walz passed as governor requiring schools to offer complimentary menstrual products to students.
